Yellow dog is a fantastic realistic fiction novel by Miriam Korner about two kids and an old man.
The main character’s name is Jeremy and the other kids name is Justin. Jeremy and Justin always would walk home together but sometimes it’s not the same. The old man has a dog and Jeremy goes to check it out. Jeremy meets the old man and finds out that he’s a dog racer and then really wants to be a dog racer so he forms a dog racing team and follows his dream.

Overall I really like this book. I liked it because at first Jeremy didn’t really care about dogs and after he was really interested and didn’t give up. One scene that I really enjoyed was when Jeremy finally learned how to ride the dog sled because he was so relieved and happy. Another scene that I liked was when the old man finally told Jeremy how to actually control the dogs because before that the dogs kept going crazy.

I would recommend this book to any ages 8 and up because it has a lot of reading and there are a lot of words that little children might not be able to read.

I really liked the book “Yellow Dog” by Mariam Korner because it got you hooked in the book the second you started to read it. I think the book had a lot of really nice details and I liked how it was really interesting and at the same time it was very sad at the same time. I feel like since it was a true story it sent people a little notice that some people do some really bad things but those same people can save a life of a loved one.

The book was a very heart warming book and I liked how there were some part that made you say ” wow how did that happen” or “how was that even a part of a life”

Over all I would give the book a five star. I really think anyone should read it but just know its super sad.

YELLOW DOG BY MIRIAM KORNER I thought this book was really good ad sad. I thought this book had an amazing plot.
I loved how Jeremy ran a dog sled with 4 dogs named Cheerio, Happy, Lightning, and Acimosis.
My favorite part was when Jeremy and his friend Justin got stuck in the big snow storm, and couldn’t get back home.
I felt really bad when Lightning got shot when it was dog shooting day, I thought it was really nice of Justin to take care of Lightning and bring him to Jeremy’s house.
I thought the old man was really nice to let Jeremy use his dog sled equipment for his fears dog sled.
I really liked the end how Jeremy find out that the old man Jack was his grandpa, and his mom let him keep Acimosis.
The end was a great way to rap up the story, I really thought it was a great way to rap up the story for an ending.
This book was great I would give it a 10/10 because it was great.

Yellow Dog is an emotional story about two kids an old man and a dog. one of the kids pulls a dogs tail after his friend dares him to but the kid regrets his actions immediately. I would recommend this book to everyone over 8.

I enjoyed reading Yellow Dog but the title misled me into thinking it would be more about the dog or dogs when it was actually more about the boys. Demetri & Darlene

This book was about a teenager that took everything for granted and met an old man that helped him become a conscious decision making adult by letting him go through the difficulties of getting a successful dog team.

This book though me that negative experiences can be healed by the power of redemption of dogs.

Jeremy initially takes a conscious decision in the book, after he has no more matches, he learns how to make a fire out of flint and steel from the old man he also makes a conscious decision when he is low on food for his dogs, he learns how to catch fish in a net. Previously he would not have done anything about it and he would have suffered miserably, but this time he did not suffer.

Justin went on a trip with his friend Jeremy at the end of the book, they get lost and he realizes how positive the dogs were even if they were lost and worried. Justin learnt from the dogs that there are many more positive experiences than negative experiences on this earth.

I think people of all ages should read this book, since it is extremely inspirational and many people will realize how much they can change.

WARNING SPOILER ALERT I love how each dog in this book has a different personality, and how Jeremy learned so much during this time. It was really sad when lightning got shot on dog shooting day. It was incredible how lightning survived out on the street on dog shooting day, with only a shot on his tale. This book got me hooked in the first 5 words. Definitely a winner! 😀
