We Are All Made of Molecules

Written by Susin Nielsen.
Published in 2015 by Tundra Books.

Thirteen-year-old Stewart is academically brilliant but socially clueless.  Fourteen-year-old Ashley is the undisputed “It” girl in her class, but her grades stink.

Their worlds are about to collide when Stewart and his dad move in with Ashley and her mom. Stewart is trying to be 89.9 percent happy about it, but Ashley is 110 percent horrified. She already has to hide the real reason her dad moved out; “Spewart” could further threaten her position at the top of the social ladder.

They are complete opposites. And yet, they have one thing in common: they—like everyone else—are made of molecules.

The plot thickens and thickens full of twisty info!
New York Times would love it! I give it a five star rating
My mom also loved it as well
    Best book ever

  2. Senator Buchanan

    I loved this book.
I like how the two families join together to make a big one.
I also like how Stewart and Ashley help each other when they need help
and how they grow to like each other.
I like how the story is very deep…

I thought this book was very good. There were some inappropriate parts that I really did not enjoy. Also a few bad words. But other than that it was good. Some parts of it told a lesson, like Ashley’s dad, even people who are different deserve respect. One of my favorite characters was Schrodinger the cat, so it was very sad when he got lost during the story. But overall, of your looking for an interesting book, choose this one.

I really liked this book. It is about fitting in on both sides of the popularity spectrum and made me cry at the end.

We Are All Made Of Molecules is a great book. In it, a boy named Stewart’s dad marries and moves into the house of a person at his job, who just happens to be the parent of a really popular girl: Ashley Anderson. Because of this, crazy things occur, like the Jared-Ashley-Problem, Stewart having to move to a new school, Ashley being pushed down a bit on the Social Ladder, and a lot more. Ashley is mad at Stewart, Stewart is mad at Ashley, but in the end, a shocking event with Jared, Ashley, and Stewart (who saves the day) lead to them finally being friends. I think, though, that the author could have done a few things better when writing the book. For instance, less inappropriate words and ideas. What happened at the party and the words Jared was using? Totally inappropriate. And the title We Are All Made Of Molecules is a long one. And when you shorten it, it spells W.A.A.M.O.M., which sounds like someone is crying for their mom. Anyway, I think that this book is not for little kids, or even grade 5. Just too many bad words.
