To This Day: For the Bullied and Beautiful

Written by Shane Koyczan.
Published in 2014 by Annick Press.

Thirty international artists, as diverse as they are talented, have been inspired to create exceptional art to accompany “To This Day.” Each page is a vibrant collage of images, colors and words that will resonate powerfully with anyone who has experienced bullying themselves, whether as a victim, observer, or participant.

Born of Shane’s own experiences of being bullied as a child, “To This Day” expresses the profound and lasting effect of bullying on an individual, while affirming the strength and inner resources that allow people to move beyond the experience. A heartfelt preface and afterword, along with resources for kids affected by bullying, make this book an invaluable centerpiece of the anti-bullying movement.

I don’t really like it because I don’t really get what it’s saying all I know is it’s about bullying, that’s all. I rate it 2 stars.

I loved this book! It made me understand more clearly just how devastating it feels to be bullied and the struggle to recover. EVERYONE should read this book!!

The art is awesome, the story is awesome. I’ve read this book ten times at the least and every time it leaves me in a stunned state. I don’t want to give the book back, but I know there are books just as or even more so exciting inspirational, and awesome.

This book was amazing! I bet it changed a lot of people’s point of view. It definitely changed mine. I know I haven’t done this before, but now i can put myself in someone else’s stance. I think this is very important in life because many people just think about themselves. They’re not as open to other people’s perspectives. I really enjoyed this book and doing a RMBA project on it.

I really enjoyed this book. It was really amazing. I think that it teaches a really nice lesson on how we should listen to other people’s perspectives. I think it’s very good to listen to other people’s perspectives because it teaches you how other people feel and you won’t just be focused on what is and what isn’t beneficial to you. Though like me I like to make sure that I am finished with myself first before I worry about others.

The book is very sad. It also made me understand more about bullying and how it makes you feel. I wouldn’t vote for this book because I thought it was a bit to scary and sad.

This book was so sad! Even though we skipped a page or 2, I still loved it. It teaches people how mean people are and how the bullied people feel. I honestly felt like crying. I feel bad for people who get bullied everyday and are treated like trash because they’re being like tossed around each day. Everyone is beautiful inside and out. It doesn’t matter what you look like! If your being bullied stand up for yourself and tell someone about it!

I personally love this book, because the art in this book is created by many different artists and it lets the readers know the different perspective of each author. Also the book is very emotional because it uses many strong words that really express Shane Koyczan’s anger to bullying. Also it helps let bullies understand how the people who is getting bullied by them, how they feel. It Also helps bring the courage to the bullied person to stand up for herself/ himself.

I loved this book! I liked how it had stories from people who had been bullied and those who had bullied. It was interesting how they coped with their past actions.
