The Inn Between

Written by Marina Cohen.
Published in 2016 by Roaring Book Press.

The Shining meets “Hotel California” in this supremely creepy middle-grade novel about the bizarre things that happen to two girls stranded at a desert inn.

Eleven-year-old Quinn has had some bad experiences lately. She was caught cheating in school, and then one day, her little sister Emma disappeared while walking home from school. She never returned

When Quinn’s best friend Kara has to move away, she goes on one last trip with Kara and her family. They stop over at the first hotel they see, a Victorian inn that instantly gives Quinn the creeps, and she begins to notice strange things happening around them. When Kara’s parents and then brother disappear without a trace, the girls are stranded in a hotel full of strange guests, hallways that twist back in on themselves, and a particularly nasty surprise lurking beneath the floorboards. Will the girls be able to solve the mystery of what happened to Kara’s family before it’s too late?

This book is a good book because there are some twists in the story like in the last part when quin and Kara fall inside the elevator then goes down i thought there would be a way out of the hotel but there was this creepy girl that was actually not Emma and this creepy alien from area 51. Can you please tell me what that creepy girl was.

The Inn Between is about two kids that go to a hotel called The Inn Between. In The Inn Between, things are strange. One day, one of the kids mother, father and brother disappear. When the kids go looking, they learn a lot of secrets about The Inn Between from a long time ago…
I think all children from the ages 7+ should read this because it has lots of suspense and mystery. I do not recommend this book to children with ages 1-6 because it has some creepy/scary-ness and could frighten young children. The Inn Between can make sense while still being confusing in a different way. This happens when one thing that makes sense which leads to another thing that makes no sense. This can also happen the other way around. The Inn Between is superior to other mystery novels because the mystery is strong compared to the mystery novels I have read. The book convinces me because it starts off making sense and then starts getting more confusing, bit-by-bit. This book has no awareness to any issues in any way.
I think that The Inn Between is a very good mystery book that has a lot of surprises that make no sense. I think others should read this because it is a good book for grade ⅘’s, having lots of nice, strong words that stand out in the writing.

My friends begged me to read this book. I ended up reading it and when I read a few chapters I realized I was holding a book that I cannot put down. I was drawn to this book! This book has so many thrillers that makes this book what it is. Marina Cohen wrote this book to make you laugh, be scared and cry and realize that this was the best book you have ever read.

I think that it was a good book that had lots of twists and turns, it used many juicy and descriptive words and it was very entraining. but near the end to many new characters were introduced and the story line was a little hard to follow. overall I give this book 3/5.

The Inn Between was a strange book, one of the things I saw that was strange was at the end of the book when it left a lot of questions unanswered like what happened to Kara and her family, what did Quinn and Emma do at the Inn and when did they leave? Who Kidnapped Emma and how did she get to The Inn Between? I think the author should of answered these questions. It was pretty detailed too but I would give this book 2 out of 5 stars.
