This book was okay but some of it was a little too much for me. I almost gave up on it.
Our class was not comfortable with the 'seance' type ideas in this book. Many of our families have strong beliefs and would not have wanted us to get involved with this type of reading. The title and the picture kept many students from reading it. Those who did read it, did not find it overly appealing.
Loved it! This was my favorite book this year! I never would have thought of such an original plot such as this in a million years. When I started reading it, I just could not put it down. (of course the next morning, I was extremely tired because I'd stayed up to read it) I enjoyed the way it was written. You know what? I could make a million sentences about this book starting with "I enjoyed..." So for now, toodles!
I really liked the book. you always ustand what was going on because of the detail. i would rate it 10/10
I loved this book. I really liked that it was based such a long time ago and that it was a mystery.
I thought I would not like murder mysteries but this book changed my mind. It always kept me guessing and I found that I would try to figure out what happened next. It was on of my favorite. If you are one of those people who don't like gory books but would like to try something new like a murder mystery this book is great. The only bad part is when he finds the body in the tank. I definitely recommend this book.
I loved the séance because the author’s style of writing drew you in at the first sentence. The book was exciting and left you thinking days after you’d finished reading it. It was one of my favorite books, I’d rate it 10/10. Also note that the séance was not a scary book it was simply a little eerie.
No, I did not The Séance because I did not like the style of writing. I liked the initial incident and I thought it was a very creative idea.
I really enjoyed the book. I thought the book was very original. I never wanted to put the book down. I also thought that the boy was like me. I did not think the book was scary.
This book rocks it has a lot of action and suspense. I recommend it to people who like scary books. I give this book 10/10.
this book was really good I would rate it 11/10 it was soooo good! I would recommended it to any one who likes books it is Amazing!!!!

It is about a mother and a daughter. The mother is a medium she is called Madame King and she calls her daughter Scooty. Madame King actually thinks she can call the dead but it's just Scooty. Then there comes an award for 2500 dollars and that's when the interesting part begins.
The Séance is a scary book with contacting ghosts and appearing ghosts and even strange people I thought it was scary but I could not put it down. I would give it a 5 out of 5.
The séance is very spooky. I would recommend this book for grades four to six. If you do not like ghosts. I would not recommend this book. I would rate this book five out of five.
I thought this book was okay. It was a bit hard to follow along but I did like some parts because they were scary. I would give this book a 7/10 and would recommend this book to people who only like scary books and follow along very good.

Loved it. A bit boring at the starting but then after that AWESOME. A Scary, and mysterious Novel at the same time, and also Loved the ending, it was great!!! Thank you, Iain Lawrence!!!
The Séance was a really great book. It was full of suspense and at parts I wondered if the characters would be ok. It was scary in parts and there was always something happening. I loved this book but I was surprised that Houdini died.
When Harry Houdini comes to town Scooter is super exited, but his mother has the opposite reaction- scooters mother pretends to talk to the dead with the help of scooter and Harry Houdini always reveals other mediums secrets so scooters mom is very worried. when scooter finds a dead body in Harry Houdini's dunk tank and Houdini's show is sabotaged scooters knows he must crack the case. if he doesn't get killed himself. a great book and I highly recommend it!
