By Arthur Slade

Meyonohk School

Zap, plop. Zap, plop. That's the end of almost every Starker family member. But the Starkers are survivors, adapting to their fate, postponing it. But the curse gets them in the end. After Newton is left parentless, Newton is sent to a specialized boarding school where only the toughest survive. But he can't escape his fate. It's always Zap, plop.

Holden School-C.O.

I really enjoyed this book. It was such an original and unique idea. It had some really unusual parts in it that kept the reader interested. The pig was a fantastic and surprising addition. Great read with a great overall message.

St.Patrick Fine Arts Elemntary School

AWESOME BOOK! 9 out of ten, very descriptive. Like the story line.

Holy Name

Jolted is a book about a boy named Newton Starker who is the last line in the Starker family, other than his great grandmother. Newton decides to go to a school to learn about survival. But for Newton it is a little more than that, it is survival from the one most dangerous thing, lightning. Newton must find that sometimes it is better to have help. I would give it a nine out of ten.

Ecole Holy Name

I loved it. I especially loved his animal but you will have to read it to find out what kind of animal she is. I enjoyed the idea of how every Starker has been killed by lightning.

Oilfeilds High School

This is an awesome book about a boy who is constantly in danger.

KEEPHILLS SCHOOL

I thought Jolted was a pretty good book. I thought the ending could have been a little bit better. It was like the ending was the beginning of the next book. But overall the book was very interesting. It made me want to continue reading and it was very descriptive. I rate this book a 8/10. Great book though!!!

Keephills School

I give Jolted a 1 out of 10 because it was boring.

Ecole St.Mary 's

I give this book a 10 out of 10. Newton's family continues to be struck by lightning. When Newton was visiting his great grandmother she was hit by lightning. Newton receives a pig and cares for it and feeds it like a pet. When Newton and his class are on a trip and have to survive alone Newton brings his pig along. He leaves one of his classmates at the top of the mountain and soon feels bad. After a few minutes he tells his pig to find his classmate. At the top he notices his classmate has a broken leg he helps her up then sees lightning. He pushes her away just before a bolt of lightning strikes him. The pig puts her wet nose on his ankle and allows the lightning to flow through her body as well. To find out if they both live or not READ THIS BOOK!

SHA

I felt it could have been a bit better, seemed to be a bit boring to me, on a scale of awesome: 2/10 It could have been written more better to capture readers of all ages.

Jolted is a great book about Newton Starker a boy who loves to cook and about his families curse- every starker dies by being struck by lightning. when Newton's grandmother the only other starker alive} gets struck by lightning and dies its up to Newton to not get struck by lightning and keep the starkers coming. if Newton wants to stay alive he's going to need his pig Josephine, defeat Violet and stay alive during the class survival test out alone in the woods. Jolted is a great book and I highly recommend it.
