| Prisoner of Dieppe |
| By Hugh Brewster |
I liked this book, my favorite part was the Battle of Dieppe because they would yell out battle plans if plan A or B failed. This is a book for people that like war stories.
PRISONER OF DIEPPE I liked this book because I learned about World War II. My favorite part was the battle because I liked all the yelling and the strategizing for the next attack. I would recommend this book to everyone. I can’t wait for the next book.
Prisoner of Dieppe I would recommend this book to everyone I saw if I could. I absolutely loved this book; it’s just so interesting I hope that you chose this book to read. It really is a cool book because it was like a diary. I like that kind of book, a biography. They’re pretty cool.
Prisoner of Dieppe I really liked this book it takes you to a different world. Although this book is about war, it has an incredible back story of two young Scotsman. This takes you through the life of Alistar Morrison and his friend Mackie. Most important it teaches you what it be like to be in the war. I recommend this book to everybody.
Prisoner of Dieppe was an amazing book of awesomeness. I loved it; it had Scottish people and World War 2 and Germans. A boy named Alistar Morrison that lived in Scotland with his friends and family, and then he was called to war with a guy named Mackie that helped Alistar from a bully. Mackie and Alistar went to a war camp for resting and training. Mackie got sick of the camp so he made a mine with few friends. One night when Mackie got really tired of the in the mine. I can’t tell you the rest of the story because I don’t want to ruin the rest of the book for you.
This book is about a man named “Alistair Morrison” who joins the Canadian army. Being weaker than others he is always getting picked on and is always in trouble from the drill sergeant, Kewley, but he has his friend, Mackie who is very strong, to protect him, for now! This book is written as a first person narration. If I wrote the book I would have wrote the book as if it were a diary because Alistair said he had a diary in the story so the author should have based the book off that. In the begging of the book Alistair meets Mackie and the two of them are physically equal, and the book really points that out, throughout time when Alistair and Mackie grow, and through the time span Mackie gets a job carrying heavy crates and he starts working out, as a result Mackie is big and strong and like, around town and in the army. On the other hand Mackie had to drop out of school, but only to help his massive, fatherless family through the Great Depression. Alistar doesn’t take the same path as Mackie, instead he completes school, thanks to his mother, becomes obsessed with books and the radio, and never does anything active, and as a result he is a weakling of the town and army. I think that when the author wrote the book he really tried to point out that Mackie and Alistar really took separate paths! This book reminds me of captain America because both stories are about a weak man and a strong man who are friends that go off to war together. The stories are different also because in Captain America the two friends join the American army, but in this book the two friends join the Canadian army. The stories are also different because in Captain America the weak friend gets very big and strong, but in this book the weak friend hasn’t gotten very strong or tough yet! I have a feeling he will though! And now I have to go find out!
The Prisoner Of Dieppe is a heart warming exhilarating dramatic book by Hugh Brewster. He has many other books similar to the Prisoner Of Dieppe at the begining he and his sister meet a someone the special person they meet stands up for them because they get bullied they are from europe and the children bullying them are canadiens. The Canadiens dont want them on there canadian park, Later in the story it gets very emotional between friends and family members because WII started. Once it gets deeper and deeper in the book they start to get endangered to lose there family members, Well thats all I can tell you about the book. I hope you read this emotional heart-warming dramatic book.
