Finding Grace

Written by Becky Citra.
Published in 2014 by Second Story Press.

Ten-year-old Hope is a bit of a loner with a wonderful imagination. Growing up in the 1950s with a single mother and a mysteriously absent father, the letters she writes to her imaginary friend, Grace, help her cope with the difficult times in her life: her mother’s depression, their money worries, struggles to make friends at school and her grandmother’s death.
On her eleventh birthday, Hope is shocked to learn that Grace is a real person–her twin sister, who contracted polio and was adopted when they were toddlers.

i love the cover of the book and how the story going.
How did you get the idea for the book?
Maybe you should make some pictures in the book or some words that can make the person imagine what is happening.
Also which one is grace on the cover?

I think this book was amazing! It was interesting because Hope always thought that Grace was an imaginary friend but she was more than an imaginary friend! I enjoyed this book a lot. I just didn’t really like the ending. It would be amazing if there could be sequel. I overall rate this book 9/10.

When I read the book I can imagine what it looks like when I read it. I love it when she found her sister. I like the notes that Grace writes. I feel bad for Grace when her grandma died.

I think this book is one of the most interesting books I have ever read. (besides warriors by erin hunter) I will probably vote on it but I want to read the night gardener and the swallow if I can, but so far I have given it FIVE STARS. SPOILER ALERT It was so sad when the granny died and hilarious when the granny came to the tea party instead of her mother (and emmbarising) ah sad/happy memors of the gamas life. It was also sad when cat died because he missed the grama.

I loved Finding Grace because, it was a heartwarming book with multiple every day struggles and other harder struggles. My favorite part was where they made pies together, it was one of the happiest moments and I think it was when Grace and Hope really connected. I have always loved fantasy and this is one of my favorites! 11 out of 10 stars for sure!! My favorite RMBA book by far!!

  19. Hillhurst School

I really thought that Hope was a real person and this actually happened to her instead of just being pretend. The author made it so that it looked like she was Hope and that she had actually been through that dilemma. If I were Hope I would feel the same way about it!

  20. Hillhurst School

I like how its full of drama and how Hope thought Grace was just an imaginary friend but actually Grace is Hope’s …………….. SISTER!!!!

  23. Hillhurst Elementary School

Finding Grace is an amazing book. It was so happy in the end when she and her twin become best friends. She got a friend, her mom got a husband and her dream job, a flower shop and everything turned out like a happily ever after.
