Extreme Battlefields

Written by Tanya Lloyd Kyi.
Published in 2016 by Annick.

The world’s strongest armies discover that Nature can be a secret ally or an unbeatable foe. Not even the strongest troops can match the power of nature. In each of the ten stories in this volume, well-armed forces set off to battle human enemies but find themselves fighting the environment instead. Sometimes a leader carefully plans the perfect attack, only to find geography in the way. Other times the climate interferes unexpectedly.

I like that the book is telling us how the world was
before the world wars even started and kinda how they ended.

I also like all the detail in the pictures.
I like how the author said how difficult it would be for the soldiers that were going to war.

I think most people should read Extreme Battlefields because the writing style and the way it is organized is very clear in every chapter it only talks about how they achieved it. Also kids should read it because it talks about failure and sometimes succeeding for a bit but they still couldn’t get through the storm so each propose of each chapter talks about that. I would rate this book 3 out of 5 because I liked some other RMBA books better than these too and I think it got a little confusing sometimes and a little boring almost at the end of the book. But there is really good facts when you read it because it talks about the nature around us and how they tried to get through it.

Extreme Battlefield is an interesting book about how weather can absolutely make military operations go horribly horribly horribly wrong! The book is quite interesting and has many stories you can read so you don’t need to just choose one story. Illustrations are quite good. I think they fit the book very well. The book’s purpose is to show off how military operations can go bad with extreme weather in the way and it succeeds with that decently. If you like a particular war that one of the stories is about, then you read that story. For example, there’s a World War 1 story. If you like WW1 you would read the WW1 story. I give Extreme Battlefields four and a half Stars because in my eyes five stars is like ultimate Overlord! So four and a half Stars it is.

it has great story’s and amazing detail. It gives you info you would not no unless you did research. It shows you Military needs to check the weather before they attack. I give it 3 stares because it has lots of good story’s. It kept you in the book and always made you wonder. I would recommend this book to people interested in war or what weather can do to such powerful people.

I liked this book because it has a lot of different stories and lots of facts. My favorite story was the U.S navy vs The Typhoon Cobra, its awesome. I liked how the author, Tanya Lloyd Kyi gave information and told an exciting story at the same time. The only thing I didn’t like was that it had pictures on every single page. I know that some people enjoy lots of pictures but i prefer less pictures. That is what I think about the book Extreme Battlefields.
