Because I Am a Girl

Written by Rosemary McCarney.
Published in 2014 by Second Story Press.

Seven authors have visited seven different countries—Brazil, Togo, Sierra Leone, Cambodia, Uganda, Ghana, and the Dominican Republic—and spoken to young women and girls about their lives, struggles, and hopes. The result is an extraordinary collection of writings based on the girls’ true stories, about prejudice, abuse, and neglect, but also about courage, resilience, and changing attitudes.

This book tells you the struggles of the girls around and what they have to deal with everyday and then it tells you about amazing girls thats had an impact and helped shape our world. Many different people try to save girls but at the same time other people are hurting girls day by day and this book really captures that and tells you it in a way no other book can.

    I would give this book a 9/10.
